Dissolving Chemistry For Girls

Dissolving Chemistry For GirlsDissolving Chemistry is the result of the author's frustration with chemistry students and teachers. She decided to write a book about chemistry with a female perspective that allows women to learn the science without having to be afraid of it. It is a clever approach, and one that offer both encouragement and a method of moving past the fear of it all.As a pre-teen girl, I became very fascinated with chemistry when I watched 'I Spy.' I don't think it was until much later in life that I realized there was a male scientist among the group of scientists. As a student, I can recall feeling excited at the first chemistry class I attended. It seemed interesting and exciting.Chemistry is intimidating for a number of reasons. Teachers, when looking for a way to stay relevant in their field, usually base the topics on science. However, science can mean many different things to different people. It also may be because of the cultural biases that exist against wom en in the workplace. As a friend of mine explained, 'girls don't really like science.' While this sounds like a generalization, we felt it necessary to speak up and make sure my daughter learned all she could about the subject. If you are interested in working with a like-minded parent, then you should take a look at Dissolving Chemistry. We felt it was a brilliant book for young girls who wanted to become interested in science. As a girl growing up in a small farming community, I remember feeling left out in high school chemistry class. My only option was to take a few extra credits in order to take part in the class. With many of my friends being smarter than me and probably having higher grades than me, I found myself in the role of one of the dumbest kids in the class.Unfortunately, it seems that those kids who did get into chemistry class were the ones who could talk the most. Fortunately, I have daughters who still want to learn about the subject. I hope this book will inspire m ore parents to encourage their daughters to learn about science. As a scientist, I can tell you that we still have a long way to go.This pretty cool book covers a wide variety of topics, including how to teach science to your children, class management, and how to effectively grade papers. The format is very easy to read and follow. In addition, it explains some of the difficult subjects in a logical way. This book is not just a history lesson. It is actually intended to help young girls learn about science.Teaching your child how to tackle these difficult concepts does not have to be stressful. Even though I know that some parents have had problems with previous books and children, I am willing to bet that this book is going to be well received by other parents. Although it has been written as a youth science book, it is also geared toward older children who want to learn more about the subject. Dissolving Chemistry is not meant to scare your daughter off chemistry.
